A Lab for Inner Resources in Times of External Upheaval

This session is part of the Public Vitality Camp 2026 and is convened by Lia Meißner of Life Repair Kit.

Where do you find stability amid all these changes?

How do you remain capable of taking action when uncertainty grows?

How do you find the strength to work toward a better tomorrow?

Periods of uncertainty, overload, and upheaval affect not only institutions, infrastructure, and organizations, but also how we manage our daily lives and cope with change. Resilience is often understood as an individual’s ability to cope with stress—even though many of its causes are social, economic, or systemic in nature.

What helps us stay vibrant, adaptable, and capable of taking action, without turning resilience into yet another demand to simply endure even more?

This session is designed as a workshop. Over the course of three hours in Kreuzberg/Mitte, we’ll explore together what tools a practical “Life Repair Kit” might contain: resources, practices, relationships, and forms of support that help us recognize stress, regain our bearings, and respond appropriately to change. Together, we’ll gather best practices and examine what individual skills are needed, how we can organize collective support, and what conditions help us find grounding and stability in times of meta-crisis.

Welcome Perspectives

The working language of this session will be English, but German speakers are encouraged to attend and express themselves in their preferred tongue. This session is aimed at anyone working on issues of social resilience who is interested in the connection between inner and outer transformation. We especially welcome:

Leaders and individuals in positions of responsibility within organizations undergoing change

Change makers, activists, and individuals working on transformation and the future

Administration, politics, and the public sector

Community and peer support, social work, and care

Psychology, counseling, and mental health

Education and learning

Organizational well-being and New Work

No prior knowledge of resilience approaches is required. We welcome real-life experiences, practical approaches, and perspectives that connect personal well-being with broader societal conditions.

Important Notes

Weather permitting, a walk will be part of the session. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing, warm layers, and sturdy shoes.

The Public Vitality Camp is a shared learning space for people already working on societal, institutional, technological and ecological challenges. Across the sessions, we work on concrete questions and tensions and explore what enables people, institutions and communities to remain capable of acting under increasingly difficult conditions – and how decisions made today expand or constrain future possibilities.
